This is a small group scheduled tour limited to a maximum of six people. The Czech Pubs and Tapas walking tour is a shortened route version of my popular Hidden Secrets of the Old Town and Jewish Quarter Tour so you get all the quirky stories, history and local knowledge but with the addition of 3 beer stops and Czech Tapas. In pub conversation you’ll get local tips on beer gardens and you can ask about whatever interests you, WW2, Sport, Communism, Literature, Empire, Kafka etc in fact you can ask about whatever you want.
It’s an easy pace tour and my aim is for you to experience 3 local pubs, one modern, one classic, one artistic and to try a unique beer in each of them. It’s flexible of course, so if you prefer a small beer or a glass of wine then that’s fine.
At the end you’ll have a selection of Czech food hot/cold tapas to enjoy with your last beer. This includes a selection of beer cheese, pickled sausage, pickled fish, cooked red-pepper sausage, potato pancakes and fresh bread so I would describe this as a light meal. I’ll explain about each of the tapas so you can recognise it on any Czech menu
I’ll be meeting you on the historic and beautiful Old Town Square and you’ll receive meeting point details in the booking confirmation along with a reminder closer to the date. Contact me if you have any questions.
Old Town Square
The beating heart of the city. You have to learn about several of the major landmarks here.
Surrounding the Old Town Square is the original trading area of the city. Much of it dates back to the 14th Century or earlier. We'll explore it.
We'll learn about the area, why it looks like it does, the landmarks including 5 of the synagogues and the effect of World War Two.
Both of these pubs have been frequented personally by me since 1996 and has a unique and memorable offer.
If you are walking then head for the Old Town Square. In the meeting point details you will have received a map and photo showing the Kinsky Palace and my picture so you know what I look like.
If you are coming by public transport then the best option is to arrive at the Staromestska metro station. Exit the metro and follow the signs for "Staromestske Namesti" (Old Town Square) then refer to the meeting point details.
You'll have my contact number so you can call me if you need to.
Currently I can only accept a credit card payment. Online, this is done using a “Bank” level secure booking link. If you do not want to use the online service then you’ll need to call the necessary toll-free support number listed on the Contact page and give your details over the phone.
Yes, after booking you’ll receive an email from livingprague which will contain confirmation of the booked tour plus specific meeting point details including address, map, photos and directions. You’ll have my email address and phone number as well.
No. Even if only one person has booked a tour, scheduled or private, it will still be run.
During the booking process if you can enter a valid mobile phone contact number then you will receive a reminder SMS on the day of the tour and it gives us the possibility of contacting you should the need arise. If not then please make sure that you have the meeting point details/directions and that you are on-time.

"Jason's tour was great fun and provided a lot of insights and details around the Jewish Quarter, Old town and history of Prague in general-it was like taking a Prague history crash course! Jason has a very engaging personality with a sense of humour which makes it absolutely worthwhile. Dont miss!"
